The casting process used to manufacture MAIZEY SUSTAMID 6G produces in a high-molecular and highly crystalline polyamide type 6 material with outstanding physical properties. Sustamid PA6 G has similar mechanical properties and chemical resistance to a standard Nylon 66. Stock shapes are available in sheet, rod or tube form in a wide selection of sizes.
Please note: In thin-walled parts, reduced mechanical strength and dimensional stability
Sustamid is frequently used as a substitute for aluminium, brass or bronze. Used for a wide range of industrial components both for Original Equipment Manufacture and maintenance.
Mechanical engineering: e.g. sliding parts, rollers, bushes, slide bearings, wear pads, support and guide wheels, sprockets tension rollers.
Offshore: e.g. bogies, cable winches, sheaves
Vehicle construction: e.g. sliding parts, hoisting gear, rope pulleys
Foodstuffs industry: e.g. sliding parts, conveyor stars wheels, spiral conveyors, feed screws,
MAIZEY SUSTAMID 6G MO contains finely divided particles of (Molybdenum Disulphide - MOS2) combined with Carbon Black to enhance its bearing and wear behaviour without impairing the impact and fatigue resistance inherent to unmodified cast nylon grades. It is a very commonly used grade for gears, bearings, sprockets and sheaves.
Used for a wide range of industrial components both for Original Equipment Manufacture and maintenance. Ideal for dusty environments and applications requiring a UV resistant material that can be exposed to high loading.
Frequently used as a substitute for aluminium, brass or bronze.

MAIZEY SUSTAMID 6G OL Nylon is an internally lubricated oil filled cast nylon 6 which is self-lubricating in the real meaning of the word. This highly modified caprolactum grade has internal liquid lubricant evenly distributed throughout the polymeric mix and is a distinctive yellow colour.
MAIZEY SUSTAMID 6G OL is specifically developed for unlubricated moving parts applications and yields a considerable growth in the application possibilities of nylon sheet, rod and tube. This is because of its reduced coefficient of friction (-50%) and improved wear resistance (up to 10X).
Mechanical engineering: e.g. Low load, high speed and low temperature slide or journal bearings, sliding parts, rollers, bushes.
Offshore: e.g. bogies, cable winches
Vehicle construction: e.g. sliding parts, hoisting gear, rope pulleys
Foodstuffs industry: e.g. sliding parts, conveyor stars, spiral conveyors
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
For SUSTAMID® 6 GOL to be most effective, constant speed and pressure is required to activate the liquid lubricant. A fluid lubricant is advantageous in lowering the coefficient of friction and offers a reduction in the "stick - slip" effect however, in applications with minimal sliding movement and intermittent pressure; it is very difficult to maintain the lubricating film as viscosity drops with an increase in temperature. The lubricating film will therefore not be at the sliding faces. Under high loads the thickness of the lubricating film may be reduced as it is forced out from between the sliding surfaces.
SUSTARIN® C Acetal copolymer is rigid and strong with a low coefficient of friction against metals and other plastics. SUSTARIN® C is creep resistant and ideal for parts where dimensional stability is important. SUSTARIN® C does not absorb moisture and is resistant to a wide range of solvents; however resistance to strong acids is poor. Its physical properties remain constant in a variety of environments. Low moisture absorption results in excellent dimensional stability for close-tolerance machined parts. In high moisture or submerged applications, SUSTARIN® C bearings outperform nylon 4 to 1.
SUSTARIN® C Acetal is used extensively in traditional "metals" applications where the combination of strength and toughness offer winning advantages.

Sustarin is ideally suited for close tolerance mechanical parts which require dimensional stability.

SUSTADUR® TF is a bearing grade polyester providing enhanced wear and inertness over general purpose nylon (PA) and acetal (POM) products. Containing uniformly dispersed solid lubricant, SUSTADUR® TF provides a lower wear rate and coefficient of friction than unmodified polyesters like PET or PBT.
SUSTADUR® TF excels under both high pressure and velocity conditions. It is also ideally suited for applications involving soft metal and plastic mating surfaces.

SUSTADUR® Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) has high mechanical strength, good resistance to creep, excellent dimensional stability and excellent sliding properties. SUSTADUR® (PET) has superior wear resistance compared to acetal and is ideal for close tolerance parts.
Its low moisture absorption enables mechanical and electrical properties to remain virtually unaffected by moisture making this material ideally suited as a bronze bush replacement. SUSTADUR® PET-P can be machined to precise detail on standard metal working equipment.

PVDF is a specialty plastic material in the fluoropolymer family; it is used generally in applications requiring the highest purity, strength, and resistance to solvents, acids, bases and heat and low smoke generation in the event of fire. The strong bonds between the fluorine and the carbon are the reason for the extremely high chemical resistance of PVDF. (Close to that of PTFE)
Chemical Tanks, vessels,
Impact strength is perhaps the most important of the many features of polycarbonate sheet. It is 250 times stronger than glass, and 30-40 times stronger than acrylic. Whether it is used as window glazing, machine guards or in signage, it is virtually unbreakable. Design versatility allows polycarbonate sheet to be used in many ways. It can be vacuum formed and painted into high strength outdoor illumination signs. It can be cold bent on site for curved architectural glazing or it can be cut and shaped for guarding or for glazing applications where there is a potential for glass breakage.
Safety glazing, guards, signage, sightglasses
Phenolic laminates are made by impregnating one or more layers of a base material such as paper, fibre glass or cotton with phenolic resin and laminating the resin-saturated base material under heat and pressure. The resin fully polymerizes (cures) during this process. The base material choice depends on the intended application of the finished product.
Paper phenolics are used in manufacturing electrical components such as punch-through boards and household laminates. Glass phenolics are particularly well suited for use in the high speed bearing market.
Maizey Plastics offer thermoplastic welding rods for PVC, PP and PE welding. Welding rods are manufactured to the highest quality standards with no porosity. A high porosity will lead to air bubbles (known as voids) in the rods, which decrease the quality of the thermoplastics welding.
Welding Rods available include:
